City Departments
There are many ways that the City of Chilton works to serve the community.  The following are the major departments of the city, including a description of their main functions.  If you need information on or assistance with a particular city function or service, these sections of the website should be helpful to you.

Building Inspector: Responsible for enforcing city and state building codes to ensure the public's safety. The Building Inspector is Paul Birschbach. Paul's office hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Click here for building code information.

Public Works: Responsible for the major utilities and infrastructure of the city. The Director of Public Works is Todd Schwarz.

Fire Department: Responsible for the fire safety and response needs of the city. Chilton's Fire Chief is Gary Halbach.

Police Department: Responsible for safety and emergency activities in the city. Chilton's Police Chief is Craig Plehn.

Community and Economic Development: Responsible in promoting and enhancing the city's business community, industrial parkcentral business districts, and promoting the city, along with business startup and financing information. Contact Director of Public Works Todd Schwarz.

Public Library: The Chilton Public Library, located at 221 Park St., is a wonderful resource for residents and individuals looking for reading and listening materials, job information and programs for kids and adults. Glenny Whitcomb is the Library Director.
