Council Member Mark Willems--First Ward
Mark Willems

Council member history - appointed November 7, 1995 and resigned on November 30, 2005.

I have been a lifelong, Calumet County resident having grown up and graduating high school in neighboring Stockbridge. In 1981, I married the former Debbie Gruett in Chilton where we resided ever since at 1017 Fox St. During that time we raised three children: Jeremy, Joshua, Julie and beloved dog Jaden. Most recently, we welcomed our two daughter-in-laws into the family, the former Ms. Laura Hart and Bryanna Haege.

Having first been appointed to the council in 1995 to fill an open seat, I served the city for ten years until I resigned in November of 2005 after our family suffered a house fire and temporarily relocated. During those ten years I furthered my commitment to the care and concern of the community through involvement in city government chairing both the Police and Fire Committee (now known as Public Safety) and the Finance and Industrial Development Committee (General Government). In 2016, I returned to the council as a write in to fill the seat in the April Election. A member of the Culture and Recreation Committee.

Besides being a city resident, I also work in the city. I am currently employed as the third shift supervisor at Briess Malt & Ingredients Extract facility. Prior to Briess, I spent thirty-five years in the foundry industry with the majority of that time at Brillion Iron Works.

I encourage any concerned citizen to contact me with any input, thoughts or ideas you wish to share by calling me at 920-849-4237 or cell number 920-213-2391.

Current term 2016-2018.
